Take THAT, Everywhere Else!
As I reported last night, Sam Adams is going to be the next Mayor of Portland, Oregon.

Apparently, we are the largest US city to date to elect an openly gay mayor. And it didn't come up once during the campaign.

He's Sam. Everyone knows Sam. Everyone knows Sam's gay. NO ONE CARES.

Except, apparently, CNN.

Who can just bite me.

Portland is fucking awesome.

Y'know, like everyone else in Portland, I knew Sam was gay.

But I didn't even notice -- until now -- that nobody made any issue at all of it in the campaign. Like you said, it didn't even come up. And that didn't seem strange to me at all.

Because you're right. Around Portland, nobody cares.

I'm sure somewhere in PDX someone didn't vote for him because he's gay. Which is their right as Americans.

But we didn't hear about it. He wasn't The GAY Candidate. Until I was watching CNN.

I gotta stop doing that.
